Dubuffet Monumental
Dubuffet Foundation, Paris, France
12-02-2025 / 11-07-2025
“Dubuffet Monumental” explores a little-known aspect of the artist: Dubuffet the architect. The exhibition brings together fifteen models of monuments and numerous archives showing how his unique vision of architecture, which emerged from the whimsical world of L'Hourloupe, became reality.
The exhibition accompanies the publication of the latest edition of the Catalogue of Jean Dubuffet's work: “Sculptures monumentales, Tour aux figures et autres”. This volume lists all of Jean Dubuffet's monumental works around the world, from 1969 to the present day.

Planque Collection
Chapelle des Pénitents blancs, Musée Granet, Aix-en-Provence, France
01-01-2025 / 31-12-2025
From 1959 to 1965 Jean Planque was closely associated to Jean Dubuffet, as he ensured the relations between the artist and his galleries, notably the Beyeler gallery in Basel, of which he was its advisor at the time. The artist appreciated the perspective Planque brought to his work and he admitted later in 1974: “Among all those who make a show of caring about art productions, only a few really represent them as fervently as you, for whom they are an essential nutriment”.
During this fruitful collaboration, around 15 paintings were received and acquired in Switzerland, all dating from the years in which the painter radically shifted from the Matériologies to the first Hourloupe inventions.
This remarkable collection, which since then belongs to the Fondation Jean and Suzanne Planque, created in 1997, is on show at the Chapelle des Pénitents, annex to the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence, at least until the end of 2025.

Podcast - City art with Jean Dubuffet
Tour aux figures, Île-Saint-Germain, Issy-Les-Moulineaux
01-03-2024 / 30-11-2024
What role can monumental art play in the city? How did Jean Dubuffet redefine monumental art to engage with the city and its inhabitants?
These are the questions explored in this immersive and documentary sound piece about Jean Dubuffet's iconic ‘Tour aux Figures’. The project reveals the richness of this mysterious tower, located in the heart of the Ile Saint-Germain park, by combining sound recordings, personal stories and poetic narration.
The work offers a sensitive experience: a sonic journey through the spaces and materials of the tower, where the voices of visitors and the sounds captured on site interact with the architecture. It's an exploration that invites us to escape, to dream and to rethink our relationship with art and landscape.
This sound creation is available on all podcast platforms.
